President's Message

This May our chapter will make its official jump to 100 years of age. As we continue to grow as one of the most storied and successful chapters at the University of Washington - and by our national standards - there has never been a better time to be an Alpha Sig. Our fraternity is now registered as one of the five largest in our Greek Community at just over 100 members, yet our brotherhood remains the staple of our home. We boast some of the brightest young engineers, businessmen, and future politicians on campus (leading us to a 3.2 GPA, which is above the all-men’s average) as we continue to maintain our reputation as a well-balanced fraternity. At our last national convention our chapter took home awards for best Brotherhood Development, and Recruitment out of all 90 Alpha Sigma Phi Chapters. This year we are a front-runner for the GSP Award (given out annually to the best Alpha Sig Chapter) and are doing everything we can to attain such a high honor. Our philanthropy, Alpha Sigma Phight for Life, is taking off in full force this year as we have gained support from some major sponsors for our weeklong event in the hopes of donating thousands of dollars to the Seattle Children’s Hospital. Quarter after quarter our social calendar is filled with great events to help cement our reputation as one of the top social fraternities on campus. Our recruitment chairmen have already begun their efforts in finding the next 30 men worthy of calling themselves Alpha Sigs. If you’re not only interested in your education, but also interested in becoming a better man during your four years at the University of Washington, I strongly suggest contacting them. The time is now to become a leader down the road; it’s a great time to be an Alpha Sig.

Cheers,

Gavin Feuer
